Privacy Policy

Last updated November 5, 2026

Voraum is a directory that helps people and businesses in diaspora communities across Canada find each other. It is run by Selorm Victor Matanawi in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: vsmatanawi@gmail.com.

What we collect

Community information

Choosing a community (for example, a cultural or ethnic community) is optional. If you choose one, it appears on your public profile and can be used to filter search results. This can reveal information about your background, so only add it if you are comfortable with that. You can remove it at any time by editing your profile.

What is public

Your profile page and directory listing are visible to anyone on the internet, including people without an account and search engines. That includes your name, headline, location, category, communities, about text and website. Do not put information in these fields that you do not want to be public.

How we use it

We do not sell your personal information.

Who processes it for us

Because some of these services are located outside Canada, your information may be stored and processed in other countries and can be accessed under those countries' laws.

Your choices

Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it

We use access controls so that people can only edit their own profile, and we keep your contact email out of public pages. No system is perfectly secure. We keep your information while your profile exists. When you delete it, we remove the profile from the live service; copies in routine backups are overwritten on the provider's normal schedule.

Children

Voraum is for people 18 and older. If you believe a child has created a profile, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we make important changes, we will update the date above.
